Choose a simple address — lifeboat.id/your-name. It's the place you return to when familiar sign-in methods are unavailable.
Read-only emergency access
Your passcode and a first-session security check open a short, view-only session. No Google or email required.
Google protects changes
A verified Google account is required to add, replace, or remove documents. Google access alone cannot read stored images.
Encrypted document storage
Lifeboat encrypts each document before storing it. Access attempts are logged without recording your passcode.

Choose your address
Pick a username from 2 to 20 characters. Your emergency page will be lifeboat.id/your-username.
Choose your sign-in method
Use Google OAuth or email OTP to sign in. Emergency read access always uses your passcode.
Add your documents
Upload photo IDs and supporting document images. Keep physical originals wherever they're required.
Memorize your emergency passcode
Your passcode is the only key to read-only access. There is no recovery path — choose one you can recall under stress.

Emergency read access
Go to your Lifeboat address and enter your passcode. You can view or download stored copies, but cannot alter the vault.
Document changes
Sign in with the verified Google account connected during setup to upload, replace, rename, or delete documents. Sensitive changes also require your current passcode.
Make a passcode you can remember under stress.
Lifeboat cannot recover or reset a forgotten passcode by email, Google, SMS, or support. Choose a passcode you can reliably recall — and never write it next to your documents.

A photo of an ID may help you find important information during a travel emergency, but it may not be accepted by airlines, border authorities, banks, embassies, governments, or other services. Lifeboat cannot restore accounts or bypass another service's security controls.

Common questions
- Can Lifeboat replace my passport, driver's license, or other official ID?
- No. Keep and use original documents whenever an authority requires them. Lifeboat is a personal backup, not a government-issued credential.
- Can it help me bypass MFA or regain access to email, banking, or travel accounts?
- No. Lifeboat does not bypass MFA, reset third-party accounts, or verify identity for another service.
- What if I forget my passcode?
- There is no reset or recovery path. A remembered passcode is required for emergency read access.
- Who can change my stored documents?
- Only the verified Google account connected to your vault can manage document uploads or removals. Google access alone cannot read the images.
